App Control: How to Check Basic Authentication in IIS

App Control: How to Check Basic Authentication in IIS

Environment

  • App Control Server (formerly CB Protection): All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows Server: All Supported Versions

Objective

Disable Basic Authentication and Windows Authentication to be able log into the App Control Server.

Resolution

  1. Open IIS Manager
  2. Select the Server Name and open "Authentication"
  3. Confirm that the Basic Authentication and Windows Authentication are set to "Disabled"
  4. Also confirm the Authentication by expanding Sites to select "Parity Console Web"

Additional Notes

Enabling Basic Authentication on IIS causes the web server to handle the authorization request rather than the App Control Server.
