Hi all,
I am pleased to announce the App Control 8.9.2 Windows Agent. This maintenance release contains several new features and enhancements, as well as defect fixes for customer-reported escalations as well.
Windows 8.9.2 Key Features Highlights
- Client Registration Code - In conjunction with the 8.10 Server, the Windows Agent now supports using client registration codes. These codes prevent other programs from impersonating Carbon Black App Control agents.
- Automatic DFS Mapping - Several changes have been made to improve the user experience for customers enforcing rules on a distributed file system (DFS). To do this, we've added the ability for the agent to detect referral server paths for DFS folders automatically. This prevents customers from manually specifying physical server paths for the agent to recognize as DFS server paths. This manual process is time-consuming and does not scale well, especially for customers managing a lot of DFS Servers.
- Rule Expansion Exclusions - The "rule_expansion_exclusions" config prop allows customers to prevent rule expansion for a specific USER SID. This can reduce wait times for users logging into a physical or virtual machine with many rules that need to be processed.
