Announcing General Availability of the App Control 8.7.0 Mac Agent!

Announcing General Availability of the App Control 8.7.0 Mac Agent!

The VMware Carbon Black team is pleased to announce the general availability of our 8.7.0 Mac Agent. Special thanks to the Mac team for all of their hard work in the development, testing and delivery of this release way ahead of our anticipated GA date.

This release contains support for macOS 11 (Big Sur) & macOS 12 (Monterey) via System Extensions and native support for  M1 Chipsets (Apple Silicon). Previously, Mac App Control macOS Big Sur functionality was only available via Apple’s Kernel Extensions (KEXT) technology and M1 machines were not supported.

With this critical release, customers can now employ App Control with the latest and greatest of what Apple has to offer from a macOS and hardware perspective.

Please review the “What’s New” and “Resolved Issues” section of the release notes for more information about changes in this release.

Release Downloads & Documentation:

Documentation for all App Control releases are now stored in VMware Docs. This includes the User Guide, Operating Requirements Guide, SQL Server Configuration Guide, Server Installation Guide, Supported Integrations, Events Guide, and the Release Notes.

NOTE: You will be able to find release notes from previous releases on VMware Docs, but not the associated documentation mentioned above.
