Announcing General Availability of the CB App Control 8.7.2 Windows Server

Announcing General Availability of the CB App Control 8.7.2 Windows Server

The Carbon Black team is pleased to announce the general availability of our 8.7.2 App Control server.

This release resolves critical issues found with the 8.7.0 server which was pulled from distribution on 10/6. For more information about why this release was pulled, please refer to this post.

We recommend any customers on 8.7.0 upgrade to 8.7.2 as soon as possible to avoid any potential issues with server performance and instant clone functionality.

Please review the “New Features and Product Enhancements” section of the release notes for more information about changes in this release.

Release Downloads & Documentation:

Documentation for all App Control releases are now stored in VMware Docs. This includes the User Guide, Operating Requirements Guide, SQL Server Configuration Guide, Server Installation Guide, Supported Integrations, Third-Party Dependencies, Events Guide, and the Release Notes. NOTE: You will be able to find release notes from previous releases on VMware Docs, but not the associated documentation mentioned above.

Comments

Does this release consist only a fix to the software or are there changes w.r.t the other guides (Operating Requirements Guide, SQL Server Configuration Guide, Server Installation Guide, Supported Integrations) applicable for every new release as well? These docs found on the link still refer to 8.7.0 only.

Also this new release notes does not show an upgrade path to 8.7.2. Can we directly upgrade to 8.7.2 by skipping 8.7.0 and follow that path referred under 8.7.0 release note?

Hi @venkatasamyM

As this is a critical maintenance release this only includes software fixes and no changes to the server guides. Please refer to the upgrade path recommendations from the 8.7.0 release as a guide to upgrade your systems. Any release in the 8.7.x release family will have a similar upgrade path unless otherwise noted.

Thank you!

Thanks for clarifying Isaiah !
