This manual provides information for system or network administrators who will install the Bit9 Server software and other components of the Bit9 Security Platform. Staff who install the software should be familiar with networking concepts and have experience with the Windows operating system and SQL Server management. In addition, if your site will use features that integrate the Bit9 Server and Active Directory, administrators and installers should be familiar with Active Directory concepts and use. The Bit9 Agent can be installed on Windows, Mac/OS X, and Linux operating systems, so the installer or administrator responsible for installing and managing agents should be familiar with installing software on the supported client systems at your site.
