[Cb Protection] 10.13.5 MacOS Support

[Cb Protection] 10.13.5 MacOS Support

[UPDATED 6/8/18 at 6:00PM (ET)]

All,

The Cb Protection team is pleased to announce support for the 10.13.5 High Sierra macOS. This macOS version is supported with our 7.2.3 Patch 9 Cb Protection macOS agent.

Please see our Supported Operating Systems UeX post for more detailed information on Cb Protection supported OS versions.

Important Note: Apple has introduced changes beginning in 10.13.4 with how the macOS update is applied to a machine. This change in behavior prevents us from "seeing" some system files when they are written, requiring manual approval of these files. Please see below for the most efficient way to upgrade to 10.13.5 and prevent unwanted blocks.

Recommended Upgrade Procedure

  1. Move any Mac to be upgraded into Local Approval mode
    1. Go to Computers and select the checkboxes next to the Macs to be upgraded
    2. Click the Action menu and select Move to Local Approval
  2. Apply the 10.13.5 macOS Update to the selected Mac(s)
  3. Move the Mac agent(s) back into its original enforcement policy
    1. Go to Computers and select the checkboxes next to the Macs you wish to reset the policies for
    2. Select Restore to Normal Enforcement Level from the Action menu
  4. Perform a Cache Consistency Check with the level Full Scan For New Files
    1. Click the details icon for the Mac that has been upgraded and select Perform Cache Consistency Check from the right-hand menu
    2. Important Note: You must select the Approve New Files checkbox under the Full Scan For New Files option in order for these newly detected system files to be approved.

Thanks!

[UPDATED 6/4/18 at 5:00PM (ET)]

Our 10.13.5 macOS testing is still ongoing. Testing of the new 10.13.5 macOS continues to show no compatibility issues with our 7.2.3 Patch 9 Mac agent, however we recommend not upgrading to this new macOS until we have completed our OS testing.

We will provide our next status update as soon as we can, but no later than Friday June 8th.

Thanks!

[UPDATED 6/1/18 at 2:17PM (ET)]

All,

Apple has released MacOS 10.13.5 today. The Cb Protection team is continuing to test on the official 10.13.5 MacOS. Our testing of the 10.13.5 beta versions found no conflicting issues with our latest 7.2.3 Patch 9 Cb Protection macOS agent.

Please continue to follow this post for more detailed information on the status and completion of our OS testing. Our Supported Operating Systems UeX post will be updated to reflect OS support for 10.13.5 MacOS upon completion of our testing.

We recommend not upgrading to this new macOS until we have completed our OS testing.

Thanks!

The Cb Protection Team
