[On-Prem] Cb Response: Announcing General Availability of MacOS Sensor v.6.1.1

**Note: This sensor version does not support MacOS High Sierra.  We will be releasing version 6.1.2 in the Mid-October timeframe with support for High Sierra.

Hi All,

Today, we are releasing MacOS sensor version 6.1.1 into General Availability for On Prem Customers. This version of the MacOS sensor adds support for IPv6 netconn collection. Otherwise, this is a maintenance release focused on bug fixes and performance improvements. Details are contained in the release notes here: Carbon Black 6.1.1 macOS Sensor Release Notes

In order to get the new sensor into your instance, please follow the below:

1) Ensure your yum repo is set to baseurl=https://yum.distro.carbonblack.io/enterprise/stable/x86_64/

2) Run yum install --downloadonly --downloaddir=<local directory to download the package into> cb-osx-sensor

3) Run rpm -i --force <package downloaded>  Then:

  • On 6.x servers -- Run /usr/share/cb/cbcheck sensor-builds --update

Your new sensor version will now be available via the console. If you have any issues, please contact Cb Technical Support.
