We would like to announce the release of Cb Defense (Confer) macOS Sensor 1.0.6.[158-161], the specific version number will depend on your environment. This update will undergo a phased roll out starting November 21, 2016.
Over the next 10 days the updated sensor will become available for download via the Enrollment page of the Cb Defense dashboard. The updated version will be made available to all customers by November 30, 2016.
Carbon Black strongly recommends installing this version on all newly deployed devices when it is made available. This update addresses an issue that occasionally resulted in the deregistration of a device due to conflicts in device identifiers.
In addition to the previously mentioned fix this update offers:
- Improved macOS 10.12 “Sierra” support
- Improved processing and enforcement of UNKNOWN application policy rules
- Improved malware protection through detection of process enumeration
- Improved drop detection and blocking of malware originating from Archive Utility
- Minor performance related enhancements.
