Issue:

Activate button is not available on the Licensing page to active the Parity Knowledge key.

Symptoms:
This error shows on the Licensing page: “Parity Knowledge unavailable - problem with the fast sync”

Cause:

It could happen when upgrading a Bit9 server or a clone of an existing Bit9 server using a copy of a DAS database that has a previously activated Parity Knowledge key.

Solution:

1. Stop the Parity Server and Parity Reporter services. On version 7.2.x, the services are named Bit9 Server and Bit9 Reporter.
2. Run this SQL script to delete the error:

Use DAS

      EXEC dbo.UpdateShepherdConfig 'ReporterConnectivityError', ''
      UPDATE dbo.alerts SET triggered = 0, enabled = 0 WHERE name LIKE '% Unavailable Alert'

     3. Restart the services from step 1.

     4. Reset IIS using "iisreset" on the command prompt

     5. Clear the browser cache then go back to the Licensing page and activated the Parity Knowledge Key
