App Control: Configuring Agent Management

Environment

  • App Control Console: All Supported Versions
  • App Control Agent: All Supported Versions

Objective

This document will describe the steps for configuring Agent Management.

Resolution

Navigate to System Configuration > General for the Agent Management configuration section. These options allow users to issue various elevated dascli commands on each endpoint in an environment.

The options are:
  1. Windows User/Group To Manage Agents
    • This option allows administrators to assign elevated dascli command privileges to specific users or groups.
    • We've also provided a pre-defined group drop down for Windows devices.
    • Please keep in mind that each User / Group will need to exist on each endpoint.
  2. Mac User/Group To Manage Agents
    • This option allows administrators to assign elevated dascli command privileges to specific users or groups for Mac OS devices.
    • Please keep in mind that each User / Group will need to exist on each endpoint.
  3. Linux User/Group To Manage Agents
    • This option allows administrators to assign elevated dascli command privileges to specific users or groups for Linux devices.
    • Please keep in mind that each User / Group will need to exist on each endpoint.
  4. Enable Global Password
    • This setting will let an administrator set a password for use via the command line that will be accepted on every machine.
    • If the password is changed devices will need to connect to the console to receive the updated password. The other option is to uninstall and reinstall the disconnected agents with the updated branded installer packages.
