App Control Console: Multiple emails received for System alert "Default Rules not found"

Environment

  • App Control Console : All Supported Versions

Symptoms

Multiple emails received for System alert "Default Rules not found"

Cause

Rules Installer package was not installed around the same time as the Server which triggered system alerts for missing default rules

Resolution

Verify that the rules installer is installed successfully and reset the alert to stop receiving reminder email alerts as follows:
  1. Login to CBP Console
  2. Navigate to Rules > Policies > Click on "Click here to view available Carbon Black App Control Agent/Rules versions" to verify rules installer has been successfully installed
  3. Navigate to Tools > Alerts 
  4. Search for "Default Rules Not Found" alert and click on "Reset" button next to it.
