App Control Console: Updated template clone disappears from the console when it is shutdown

Environment

• App Control Console : All Supported Versions

Symptoms

• Making changes to the template image will cause the new updated clone asset to disappear from the console when it is shutdown 
• Unable to create a new template from updated clone asset as it goes missing in the console when it is shutdown

Cause

• When the image is powered on for updates, a new computer is auto-created as its clone in App Control Console which is an expected behavior.
• If the original template is configured to clean up clones when it is offline, it will delete the updated clone from the console when it is powered off to create a new template.

Resolution

Before updating the master template image, review the master template settings as follows:

1. Login to App Control Console
2. Navigate to Assets -> Computers -> Search for the Master Template -> View Details
3. Under Template Settings -> Review Clone Clean Up setting 
4. Ensure that it is not set to "When Offline". Select any of the other available options as per business requirements
