App Control: How to Export & Import Rules from the Console

Environment

• App Control Console: All Supported Versions

Objective

To export and/or import Custom Rules to the Console.

Resolution

Exporting Custom Rules:

1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Rules > Software Rules > Custom.
2. Select the relevant Custom Rule(s) and click Export Rules.
3. Provide the File Name, Password (optional) and whether SIDs for Custom Rules are included or not.
4. Click Export

Importing Custom Rules:

1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Rules > Software Rules > Custom > Import Rules.
2. Select Browse and select the relevant .rules file.
3. Select the desired options and click Import.

Additional Notes

• Custom Rules are imported with the Status: Disabled.
• When exporting a Custom Rule the .rules file is saved using the browser's default Downloads path.
