App Control: How to Find the Service Account Used for the App Control Server Service

Environment

  • App Control Server: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows Server: All Supported Versions

Question

What is the easiest way to determine the Service Account used for App Control?
 

Answer

  1. Go to Start > Run > services.msc > click OK.
  2. Locate the App Control Reporter and App Control Server services.
  3. The Column, "Log On As" will show the user account. 

Additional Notes

Server version 8.0 - 8.5 the Windows Services were named:
  • Cb Protection Reporter
  • Cb Protection Server
Server versions prior to 8.0, the Windows Services were named:
  • Bit9 Server Service
  • Bit9 Reporter Service
