App Control: How to Import a License (.lic) File Into the App Control Console

Environment

  • App Control(Formerly CB Protection) Console: All versions

Objective

To import a new or renewed license file (.lic) into the App Control Console

Resolution

  1. From the App Control Console go into Administration options by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right corner.

  2. Select the option for System Configuration.

  3. From the System Configuration page select the Licensing tab.

  4. Select one of the following options:

    • "Specify License File", point to the saved .lic file by selecting "Choose file" and then "Add license".

    • "Paste License Key", paste the contents of the .lic file by opening the .lic file in text format, selecting all contents and copy/paste into the text box. Then select "Add License".


Additional Notes

  • Once a .lic file has been imported or added to the App Control Console the details of the file are saved in the DAS database.
  • The user can safely delete or move the .lic file to a backup location in the event the file is needed to re-import for any reason in the future.
