App Control: How to Uninstall a Connected and Healthy Windows Agent

App Control: How to Uninstall a Connected and Healthy Windows Agent

Environment

  • App Control Agent: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Objective

Uninstall an App Control agent that is checking into the console and healthy.

Resolution

  1. From the console, find the computer on the Computers page and move it into the disabled policy.
  2. On the client computer, shut down all other applications.
  3. On the client computer, run the standard program removal procedure from the Windows Control Panel:
    1. On the Windows Control Panel, choose Add or Remove Programs, or for Vista or Windows 7 systems, Programs and Features.
    2. From the list of programs, select CB Protection Agent.
    3. Click the Remove button or Uninstall button (depending upon your operating system) and wait for the uninstall to complete.
  4. Delete the computer from the Computers page. This tells the App Control Server that the computer is no longer in service (rather than temporarily disconnected from the network) and removes its name from the table of active computers.
