App Control: Installing or Upgrading Agent on Windows Server 2008 SP2 With Versions 8.6.2+ Fails

Environment

  • App Control Agent: 8.6.2+
  • Microsoft Windows: Server 2008 SP2

Symptoms

  • Installation or Upgrade with Agent versions 8.6.2+ Fails, resulting in the system not working as intended

Cause

  • Windows 2008 SP2 is not supported on any agent versions from 8.6.2+

Resolution

  • Do not Install or upgrade with Agent versions 8.6.2+
  • If 8.6.2+ Agent was installed, please uninstall and use a supported version (8.6.0 and below)

Additional Notes

  • Engineering is currently investigating this issue and this article will be updated when that investigation has completed
