Endpoint Standard: How to Silently Install the AV Signature Pack

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Console: All Versions
  • Endpoint Standard
• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: All Versions
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions
• AV Signature Pack: All Versions

Objective

To silently install the AV Signature Pack on a Windows machine with a Carbon Black Cloud Sensor installed

Resolution

1. Download the AV Signature Pack. (NOTE: Currently there is no AV Signature Pack available to download from the console instead of following these steps these steps can be used to pull down the latest Signatures)
2. Run Command Prompt as an Administrator
3. Navigate to the directory where the AV Signature Pack resides
4. Run the silent installation

   CbDefenseSig-<YYYYMMDD>.exe /silent
   

Additional Notes

• The command can also be used along with any preferred management software.
• Running as a user with full administrator permissions is required.
• There is no response from the command line when the install has completed.
