Question
Where do you find the Company Code used for sensor installation?
Answer
- Log in to the Carbon Black Cloud console
- Navigate to the Inventory -> Endpoints page
- On the top right of the console, select the Sensor Options drop down and select Company Codes.
- The View Company Codes pop-up will have a Registration and Deregistration Tab to view the corresponding codes
Additional Notes
- Currently there are two company codes
- The shorter (8 digit) company code is for older sensor versions, v1.x - 2.x
- The longer code is for sensor versions 3.x+
- If a new company code is generated, installed sensors are unaffected
- The company code can be used an unllmited amount of times
- Only installation packages, such as SCCM or GPO, will need to be updated with the new company code for successful future installations
- There is also a Company Deregistration Code which is used for uninstalling the sensor but is not generated by default
- After a computer shows up in the inventory it should have an uninstall code which is used for uninstalling the sensor
