CB Defense: Why Doesn't the Protection On/Off Toggle Appear on Some Servers When Enabled By Policy?

Environment

• CB Defense PSC Console: All Supported Versions
• CB Defense Sensor: 2.x.x.x and Higher
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions
• Apple macOS:  All Supported Versions
• Sensor Policy has "Allow user to disable protection" option enabled
• The Protection On/Off toggle does not appear in Sensor GUI on some servers

Question

Why Doesn't the Protection On/Off Toggle Appear on Some Servers When Enabled By Policy?

Answer

The Protection toggle only displays on single-user operating systems

Additional Notes

• The Protection toggle does not display on terminal servers
• This setting applies to version 2.x and later sensors only
• The users' ability to disable protection cannot be removed from 1.0.x sensors
• The "Allow user to disable protection" policy option is grayed out unless "Show Sensor UI: Detail message" is enabled
• The following message may appear in Sensor logs after system boot:

  RepMain: This is a Terminal Server - Do NOT show Full UI
