Symptoms
- Visual Studio 2017 Build Tools takes 30 sec - 2 min to startup
- Full sensor bypass resolves the issue
Cause
PSC Windows 3.4.0.1086 Release Notes the following
"DSEN-5740,EA-15016,EA-15089 Several customers have observed spikes in application start up times. Please note this is not a general performance improvement but rather a solution to customers with cases on EA-15016 and EA-15089."
The fix for EA-15089 was created to resolve an issue with certain routine functions such as opening a command line and running commands taking up to 10 seconds to complete and Visual Studio likewise runs several commands upon startup.
Resolution
Upgrade to sensor 3.4.0.1086
