Question
Does the Bit9Exporter Tool work for agents version 8.1.x and higher?
Answer
No. The Bit9Exporter tool was designed to work with agent caches version 8.0.0 and earlier only.
Additional Notes
- Starting with 8.1.x, the CB Protection agent database encryption was changed to a higher level and the Bit9Exporter tool did not get redesigned for the new encryption.
- Product Management confirmed the Bit9Exporter tool was deprecated after this change
- Carbon Black Support and Engineering are the only groups able to decrypt or export items from the agent database starting with 8.1.x
