Question
Why are my USB device control rules not applying properly?
Answer
- Device control only applies to USB storage devices, if the device doesn't register as a USB device, the agent will not treat it as removable media and the controls/rules will not be applied.
- The agent is dependent on the OS to tell it what type of device is attached, device classification can be different based on drivers used and hardware/software built into the storage device from the manufacturer.
Additional Notes
If you have verified that the device(s) are being recognized as a USB device and the controls are still not applying as expected, please open a case with support.
