CB Protection: Why Wasn’t an Installer Automatically Marked as an Installer?

CB Protection: Why Wasn’t an Installer Automatically Marked as an Installer?

Environment

  • CB Protection Agent: All Supported Versions
  • CB Protection Console: All Supported Versions

Question

Why wasn’t an installer flagged as an installer in the console?

Answer

The CB Protection Agent will only mark a file as an installer if it was created using a common application for creating installers; for example InstallShield will be recognized by the Agent.

If the installer is custom, it’s unlikely that it will be automatically marked by Protection. In these cases you can manually approve and then mark the file as an installer in the console.
