CB Protection: "Update failed" errors due to URL filtering when making changes in the web console

Environment

• Cb Protection 8.x

Symptoms

• "Update failed" error when making changes in the web console
• PHP_errors.log shows 404 errors for all PUT requests, but GET requests are successfull

Cause

• URL filtering is turned on and all PUT/DELETE requests are being blocked

Resolution

• Check the IIS configuration for any HTTP verbs filtering as described here​
• Check for 3rd party URL filtering app like Microsoft Urlscan Filter
