Symptoms
Executing the MSI installer file results in error:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
Cause
The MSI installer file is not designed to be run as a stand-alone executable without any parameters.
Resolution
Execute a silent installation similar to:
msiexec.exe /qn /i <Installer.MSI>
Additional Notes
- Other parameters can be passed to the MSI file to provide additional functionality.
- The GPO_README.txt file, located inside the MSI folder, will contain useful information.
