Carbon Black Cloud: Domain Controller unresponsive after installing sensor

Environment

  • Endpoint Standard Sensor: 3.5.0.1756 and below
  • Microsoft Windows: Server 2012, 2016

Symptoms

  • Domain Controller unresponsive after installing sensor
  • repmgr is the highest CPU or/and Memory consuming process

Cause

It is a known issue caused by callback threads are blocked on  "ExAcquirePushLockExclusiveEx".

Resolution

This issue is fixed in 3.5.0.1801 sensor, upgrade to this version will help to fix the issue.

Additional Notes

Similar system freeze problems could also be caused by this issue. Will be suggested to test 3.5.0.1801 and above sensors first.
