Carbon Black Cloud: How to Assign RBAC Roles

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Console: All Versions

Objective

Assign RBAC roles to an existing User
 

Resolution

1. Navigate to Settings > Users in the Carbon Black Cloud Console
2. Click the Edit button to the right of the User name
3. Select the desired role from the Role drop-down Menu
4. Click Save

Additional Notes

• When a new user is created, the Role drop-down menu option can be used to assign a role 
• Users will only be able to assign roles that include permissions assigned to their own role
• For example, a user with an assigned role of System Admin will not be able to assign the LR Admin or Super Admin roles 
• Users must have the Manage Users and Manage Roles permission assigned to their role to be able to perform the above actions
