Carbon Black Cloud: How to restart the Apple macOS sensor daemon

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: 3.5.1.19 and higher
  • Apple macOS: 11.2.1 and higher

Objective

Restart the Carbon Black Cloud sensor for Apple macOS

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Go
  2. Select Utilities
  3. Select Terminal
  4. Execute the following command to unload the sensor daemon:
    1. % sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vmware.carbonblack.cloud.daemon.plist
  5. Execute the following command to re-load the daemon:
    1. % sudo launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vmware.carbonblack.cloud.daemon.plist
