Carbon Black Cloud: Observing cbagentd.service holdoff time over, scheduling restart
Environment
Carbon Black Linux Sensor: All Supported Versions
Linux: All Supported Versions
Symptoms
Observing the following message in /var/log/messages
systemd: cbagentd.service holdoff time over, scheduling restart
Sensor installed, but not checking in
Resolution
The log message "systemd: cbagentd.service holdoff time over, scheduling restart" is in reference to restarting our service due to improper configuration
This issue can occur if the sensor was not registered, e.g. did not provide a company code to the install.sh script nor later registered with cbagentd -d <COMPANYCODE> option. As a result, the agent daemon refuses to run. This is by design.
To resolve this issue provide the COMPANYCODE when installing the sensor
