Carbon Black Cloud: Parent or Missing Application Name Displayed When Adding Process To Approved List

Carbon Black Cloud: Parent or Missing Application Name Displayed When Adding Process To Approved List

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Console: All Versions

Symptoms

  • Parent, or missing application name displayed when selecting a process to be added to the approved List (Instead of Actual Application Name Selected)
  • Actual Hash of application wishing to be approved is added to the approve list, as expected/desired

Cause

This issue is currently under investigation by Engineering and once cause has been identified, this KB will be updated to reflect that information

Resolution

  • Actual Hash of application wishing to be approved is added to the approve list, as expected/desired
  • Until such a time that cause has been determined, ensure that the hash of the application you wish to approve, is the one displayed in the 'Add to Company Approved List' Modal
  • After confirmation that the correct application hash is displayed, note the actual name of the application to be approved in the 'Comments' section of the modal, to help with review of the reputation page's 'Approved List' information (Comparing the Application name displayed vs the application name in the comments section)
