Carbon Black Cloud: RDP logins are many seconds longer with the CBC Windows sensor installed.

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Windows Sensor: All versions prior to 3.9.1.x
  • Carbon Black Cloud Server: All versions
  • Microsoft Windows versions: All versions supporting RDP

Symptoms

  1. RDP logins are 10 to 90 seconds slower with the CBC sensor installed.
  2. Login latency problem disappears when the CBC sensor is placed in "Bypass Mode".
  3. The latency may be more pronounced on first login after a reboot or a new non-persistent VDI instance.

Cause

This is issue DSEN-21077.

Resolution

DSEN-21077 is fixed in the 3.9.1.x and higher sensor versions.
