Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: High repcli memory utilization in Mac

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: 3.6.1 and Above
  • macOS: 10.16 and Above

Symptoms

  • Repcli using several GB of memory over time
  • Sensor logs show long running repcli processes over multiple days

Cause

Long repcli processes are failing to stop, resulting in a memory leak - DSEN-16606

Resolution

  • This will be fixed in the 3.7.1 sensor
  • Workaround: Restart the endpoint to clear memory
