  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensors: All Mac sensors
  • Apple macOS: 10.15.4

Question

What is the Kernel Extension Deprecation Warning in macOS 10.15.4?

Answer

With the rollout of macOS 10.15.4, a user's OS will now warn about future deprecation of third-party kernel extensions after installing or upgrading the Carbon Black Cloud macOS sensor.  There is no negative impact on installation or functionality of the sensor. The Kernel extrensions are still supported in macOS 10.15.4.

 


Additional Notes

The warnings may vary depending on performing an upgrade or installing a new sensor for the first time.
