Carbon Black Cloud: Why repmgr flagged processes/binaries are not included in the system tree for alerts?

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud: All supported versions
  • Microsoft Windows: All supported versions

Question

Why processes/binaries which are flagged by repmgr not included in the system tree for alerts?

Incomplete tree for process detected by repmgr.exe

Answer

  • The behavior depicted above is "as designed". The node in the Tree is not rendered if the alert came from "STATIC_SCAN".
  • Static scan is basically a background scan/scan of a binary found on the system.
