Carbon Black Cloud: Windows Security Center Not Recognizing Sensor After OS Upgrade

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Symptoms

  • After upgrading the Operating system WSC states "No active antivirus provider. Your device is vulnerable"
  • Use Windows Security Center policy setting is checked
  • CbRepWSC.log shows errors "0x8000000a" "0x80070002"

Cause

This is currently being investigated by Carbon Black

Resolution

Upgrade to sensor version 3.6.0.2076 where this has been corrected.
