Carbon Black Cloud: Zero Device Results Unexpectedly Returned When Searching in Endpoint Page

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Console:  v1.4.4+

Symptoms

When searching for devices in the endpoint page, zero results are returned unexpectedly when the last alphanumeric character is directly prepended by a minus sign/dash (-)

Cause

• This is expected behavior and working as designed. 
• The tokenization process in the search engine is responsible for this behavior.

Resolution

Do not use a search term that has the last alphanumeric character prepended by a minus sign.

Any of these will return results
