Symptoms
The 'das' database backup fails due to error:
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
Cause
There can be many reasons that cause this error. Here is the list of some reasons:
- Automatic Database Backup feature in the Console is being used on an unsupported edition of SQL Server.
- Failed the medium in which the data backup was stored.
- A write failure occurs simultaneously while the backup process is running.
- A loss of connectivity occurred during the network backup procedure.
- There is not enough space on the backup drive.
Resolution
- The automated database backup feature built into the Console is not designed for deployments of more than 100 endpoints.
- For deployments of more than 100 endpoints a Maintenance Plan should be created via SQL Server Management Studio.
- This error is from MS SQL Server. Please engage your database team to troubleshoot the issue.
