Cb Protection: CPU 100% After 8.0 P4 Agent Upgrade

Cb Protection: CPU 100% After 8.0 P4 Agent Upgrade

Environment

  • Cb Protection Agent: 8.0.0.2322 (Patch 4)
  • Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Symptoms

  • Small subset of devices maxed out at 100% CPU Usage
  • Initialization Percentage shows 0%
  • Disabling Agent causes CPU usage to drop

Cause

The behavior is caused by delay in script processing. If a server or workstation runs a large number of scripts concurrently, it can be delayed causing a spike in CPU which doesn't reduce over time

Resolution

Upgrade to 8.0.0.2562 (Patch 6)

Additional Notes

A temporary workaround is to disable script processing until the upgrade can take place
