Cb Protection: How Do Agents Recognize Global CLI Password Changes

Environment

  • Cb Protection Agents: All Versions

Question

How do agents recognize Global CLI password changes?

Answer

  • Agents currently connected to the console will receive the updated Global CLI password upon their next check-in with the server. This can be verified with the Config List (CL) Version of the agent in comparison to the Server's Current CL Version.
  • Agents disconnected from the console will not recognize the updated password until they check in and receive the latest Config List. They will still recognize the Global CLI password that was set at the time of their last check-in.
  • Agents that have never connected to the console will only recognize the Global CLI password that was set at the time that the agent installer package was downloaded.

Additional Notes

You can grab a copy of the configlist.xml file from the Cb Protection Server's configlist.xml, and then use the dascli import command on the endpoint to import the latest configlist, which will contain the latest CLI password. By default, the configlist.xml file is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Bit9\Parity Server\configxml.
