App Control: How to Uninstall a Linux Agent

Environment

  • App Control Linux Agent: All Supported Versions
  • Linux: All Supported Versions

Objective

To outline the steps needed to uninstall an App Control agent from a Linux device.

Resolution

  1. From the App Control console, find the computer on the Assets > Computers page and move it to an Agent Disabled Policy
  2. On the client computer login with an administrative account that can run sudo.
  3. In the shell window, run the following command to change to the correct directory:
    cd /opt/bit9/bin
  4. Then in the shell run the uninstaller to remove the agent and the data:
    sudo sh ./b9uninstall.sh
  5. Then once uninstalled delete the agent from the the consoles Assets > Computers page.
