Cb Response: Best Practice To Update Sensors Using SCCM

Cb Response: Best Practice To Update Sensors Using SCCM

Environment

  • Cb Response - All Supported Versions
  • All Supported Windows OS
  • Sensor Versions - All Supported Windows

Objective

Upgrading sensors using SCCM

Resolution

Ideally you want to keep the current sensor installed when upgrading. It is not recommended to uninstall sensors as the upgrade process accounts for the Sensor ID and other files on disk. An uninstall would result in a new Sensor ID and break investigations. Updating with SCCM will detect the existing install and do the update, keeping the same Sensor ID.
