EDR: Big Sur Install Requires User Intervention for FDA

Environment

EDR Sensor: 7.0.1 and later
Apple macOS:  11.x, Big Sur

Symptoms

  • User pop-up box appears while remotely installing, or upgrading, EDR sensors on macOS 11.x.
  • MDM solutions deploying EDR macOS sensors on Big Sur do NOT enable the System Preferences>Security & Privacy> Privacy tab > Full Disk Access  installations or upgrades
