EDR: Is The Gunicorn Service Required For Operation Of The EDR Server?

Environment

  • EDR Server: All Supported Versions

Question

Is the Gunicorn service required for operation of the EDR Server?

Answer

Gunicorn is utilized for sensorservices and coreservices and part of the EDR virtual environment to keep separate from anything else installed on the server.

Additional Notes

  • Gunicorn will not show up as an installed RPM; running "service gunicorn status" in a terminal window will not find gunicorn.service.
  • Run ps -aef | grep gunicorn if cb-enterprise services are started to confirm it's running coreservices and sensorservices. If gunicorn is running these services, all is operating as expected.
