Endpoint Standard: Access to Folder / Filename Was Denied

Endpoint Standard Web Console: November '20 Release (0.60) and Higher
Carbon Black Cloud Windows Sensor: 3.6 and Higher

Symptoms

The following errors are observed:

You don’t currently have permission to access this folder.

Access to <path & filename> was denied.

Cause

This can happen when trying to browse folders or execute files from an unapproved device in Endpoint Standard when Device Control blocking has been enabled.

Resolution

Make a note of the make / model of the relevant removable USB device
Contact your Endpoint Standard administrator and request that they approve the device in the Console
