Error test firing malware-object event while using a FQDN for the Bit9 Server within Fireeye listener configuration.

Error test firing malware-object event while using a FQDN for the Bit9 Server within Fireeye listener configuration.

Version

7.x

Issue / Symptom

When configuring the Fireeye appliance to send a test alert to the Bit9 Server and using a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), it generates the error “Error test firing malware-object event.”

Cause

A Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) was used for the Bit9 Server on the HTTP listener setting and name resolution is not getting resolved.

Solution

Instead of using the FQDN for the Bit9 Server address, change this to use the IP address.
