Question 1
During the installation process, it asks for a "server passphrase." What is this and what is it used for?
Answer
The passphrase is converted using a hashing algorithm into the Server ID and it's not reversible. It is used for Bit9 agent and server communication.
Question 2
How do I retrieve the passphrase?
Answer
The passphrase cannot be changed or obtained after the installation. After the passphrase is converted to a Server ID string, the Server ID string is stored in the database and each agent has a copy of it.
