How to migrate or move Bit9 Server from sub domain to root domain.

Steps

  1. On the Bit9 Console under administration, system configuration security. Use the Subject Alternative Name to put:
    DNS=oldservername.olddomain,DNS=newservername.newdomain
  2. Uninstall Bit9 Server.
  3. Move the server to the new domain.
  4. Re-install the Bit9 Server and point it to the existing database.
  5. If database is on the old domain, the service account should have permission to access it still (use solution Bit9 service account permissions for additional permission details).

Important Note(s)

Please make sure that the service account has access to both domains.
