Logging in to the Bit9 Console using a domain user is intermittently slow

Issue

With Bit9 and Active Directory integration enabled, some users are experiencing slow login response times.

 

Symptoms

After enabling default level Server logging, some domain user's login attempt response times are intermittently taking longer than expected. The following message may be observed in <Bit9_root>\ParityServer\ServerLog.BT9, indicating a 26 second response time:

[196423] 15:04:59 (9352 Register Thread 0) HostStorage::MapUsersToHostgroupUsingScript: Slow AD query: 26754 ms.

 

Cause

Large amounts of activity and/or resource constraints on the Domain Controller.

 

Solution

To resolve the issue, reach out to your Active Directory and Domain Controller admins to have the performance issue investigated.
