Version

Cyber Forensic Web-Service.

Issue

Need Bit9’s CFS certificate in order to use the CFS Web-Service.

Symptoms

When doing a CFS query, it’s showing that it can't verify the X509 certificate.

Cause

Bit9’s certificate needs to be installed in the Trusted Root Certification Authority.

Solution

The CA that we use is a Digicert. To get the certificate used for CFS Web-Service, go to https://services.bit9.com in a web browser and download the certificate, intermediate certificate and CA certificate. Add them to your Trusted Root Certification Authority.

To save the certificate from the browser, use Firefox. Go to https://services.bit9.com and click the padlock icon on the address bar. Click More Information. Go to the Security section and click View Certificate. Go to Details section and click Export.
